Moreover, the suggested intelligent transportation system also has been included in this study.The price range of Mahindra Truck starts from ₹1.45 Lakh for the most economic model in its lineup, the E-Alfa mini. Different trip generation and distribution have been investigated such hospital, schools and universities using GIS. The GIS program has been adopted to determine the suggested major routes for scheduled buses, BRT and tram with new network for public transportation. This study aims to investigate the merits of using public transportation and suggest new means of public transportation in Al-Najaf city in accordance with the fundamental design for the city. Furthermore, the other roads also suffer from congestion such as Airport road, Garage Shamalee, Najaf-Abu Skher, etc. This could be easily attributed to high trips coming to different destinations (i.e universities, schools, hospitals, courts, etc) distributed along the road without using modern public transportation such as scheduled buses, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and light train or tram. Najaf-Kufa road suffers from high congestion, especially at morning peak hour in the direction coming from Al-Najaf city towards Al-Kufa city (for 95% from its length) in addition to the other major roads in the city. ![]() The model has been applied at the park of College of Engineering with encouraging results. Arduino and ultrasonic sensors were used to detect the empty places in a park and display this status to the screen. The model of smart park system has been introduced by this study as a solution to the parking problem, especially in the university and generally in other places. The required additional parking spaces are 260.This study has suggested using the smart parks. The results of field data show a clear lack of parking space for most of the faculties in the main campus. The main campus of the University of Kufa has been evaluated by collecting parking data for both on-street and off-street parking. ![]() Therefore, this study has focused on finding the parking required for such facilities and the benefit of applying smart parking services there. The universities, in particular, are one of these places, which needs more attention for providing parking services. This problem may cause drivers to get frustrated and eventually improper parking will appear. This low flow with long storage length of roadway connecting this gate with the surrounding roadway makes this gate operates under capacity.įinding a vacant parking space nowadays is time and fuel consuming. Field data collected from Messan gate show that the traffic volume is about 300 veh/hr. This bottleneck makes the surrounding roadway suffering from congestion which already has about 3000 veh/hr according to field data obtained by this study. Whereas, the queue of vehicles at Al-Mutinabi gate extends to interact with surrounding roadway creating a bottleneck location at both entrance of the university and this surrounding roadway. On the other hand, the number of the stopped vehicles to alight passenger is a high number. ![]() For the Engineering Gate as indicated by Figure (10), it was observed along queue reaches up to 100 vehicles in front this gate on the subway. Another suggestion, could be more suitable for such area, is to allow for taxi and private cars from using the subway and preventing such vehicles from using the Najaf-Kufa roadway (preventing boarding and lighting passengers on roadway).
